Bloody fuel pump

Post

I've just had my new mk1 on the ramps and fuel pump is tie wrapped on!!

Can't believe I did not check this but it was mot'd so thought it would be fine. It's tie wrapped onto the brackets but that seems quite dangerous to me. I've been looking at mounts for it but not sure which ones I'll need? Any help will be greatly appreciated as I'm new to all this. Also noticed my brake line has been run through the suspension instead of through the flexi hose it's supposed to run through. Any and all advice would be a great help, just want it to be as standard as possible and safe to drive on nice days

You'd be surprised how good cable ties are. They'll last longer than the metal brackets!

That might be so but plastic melts, I'd rather not burst into flames because they snapped on me

Is it carb or fuel injection?

Crazy Quiff do replacement brackets for fuel injection fuel pumps - http://www.golfmk1.co.uk/Items.php?cat=fuelling&group=FUELPUMPS if you need the foam as well let them know.

Can you give a bit more detail about the brake line routing?
