I went last year and it was a fantastic weekend with great people and great cars.
No nonsense and no hassle whatsoever just friendly faces and help.
I never did fancy dress and never got drunk and took my 2 sons and wife who all equally enjoyed the event.
So the actual event is perfect but I can't comment on the advertising as I've not seen it.

I agree with last two posts a brilliant event and not to be missed. I didn't stay over on the Saturday night but I know all who did had a fantastic time. However, I do agree if you have not been before and are looking at the first page then you might want some pictures of the show itself to draw you in and want to look at the pages further. maybe a montage of photos so you can get a feeling for the event, or rotating pictures like we have on the top of the forums?
If we were to advertise the show in a National Magazine would we use that picture as the main advert one?
Just my two penneth, let's not let it detract from an amazing two days.

Isn't there a video somewhere of the show and shine etc which really shows how great the set-up and the cars were last year? That could/should be set as a sticky?

the agm is a show not to be missed, the camping is great everyone is made to feel welcome with banter about the cars, the sat night disco is a great fun night with fancy dress if you like. The first time we went, i didnt know anyone, we were made to feel like part of a family and have made great friends every year.
If having a fantastic weekend away with awesome cars, great people and a fantastic atmosphere is not for you then dont come but please dont slate something you dont know anything about without checking it out first
hope to see you all there guys, we cant wait

I sort of understand the thread starters point of view.
I've never been either and don't know what goes on apart from fancy dress Saturday night party lol.
Although I did guess there would be plenty of nice mk1 golfs without having a photo of one on the flyers.
I think the currently flyer is designed to show the that the show is a good laugh with the assumption people will know there will be good mk1 golfs at the annual mk1 golf owners club show.
