How did this get 'found'?

I knew of the golf from a friend of a friend of a friend but no one would tell me where it was, after a lot of digging I found the owner.

Oh nice one! How many owners? Mileage?

What needs doing to it? It looks pretty damn tidy!

That's what I hope to find over here in Austria but to be honest.
I've got two hopes, no hope and Bob Hope but I still talk to people and keep looking!

That looks ace! There's a lot to be said for the hoarders who squirrel cars away. 

A big thank for all you're comments ,the car is in really good condition with no tin worm in usual places either so I'm a very happy man.
The brakes don't work (pedal goes to the floor). It's a non runner due to the plunger being seized solid in the metering head and a broken fuel pipe (accumulator to main feed line). Other than this its all good.
For those who asked  its done 81250 miles and had 3 owners.
Oh and forgot to say it's a campaign with the 17EW vin number.

The plunger hopefully you can fix by pulling it out after soaking with carburettor cleaner -mine was same after 14yrs being put away, and then cleaning all the 'varnish' off it with the carb cleaner.

Such a good find, thanks for the further info. Where in the UK are you? I'm hoping Lincolnshire so you can bring it to our regional meets!
