Mk 1 Convertible clipper or GTI

Hi

I am looking for a MK 1 Golf Convertible, can be a clipper or GTI or sportline.
Year of car 89 onwards. Bodywork and chassis would need to be in pretty good condition, mechanically excellent, roof in top condition. I'm looking for something I can tinker with but not give a major overhaul.
got around £2k to spend, maybe more for the right vehicle.

Where are you….we are in Folkestone….we would let our '89 Clipper automatic go for £2k, with loads of spares including 4 lamp grille, spare headlight units, spare set of Campaign 'P' slot rims, a Westphalia tow bar (to be fitted) and spare rear bumper skin for it, VERY good mohair roof, 2 hood covers, Windschotts wind deflector……just had new brakes all round and handbrake cables, no wear on tyres, just flown through MOT, tax till end June….but you should see it and drive it first….can't host pics at mo but could email some…..

sorry, but if we don't sell the car before tax renewal we shall keep it for another year, and the tow bar will be fitted to tow our trailer (saves changing the tow ball on Passat when using the trailer 'cos the caravan has a hitch with built in stabiliser pads). If we DO sell the car and the buyer does not want the tow bar it will be sold then…..
