White Mk1 1.6 Golf GTi For Sale

It is with much sadness that I must put my Mk1 Golf up for sale   :cry: .  I am being sent overseas with work for 2 years and have discovered that car storage is not a cheap option.  I'm after a loving home for my car.  I've put a few pictures below, but if you follow the link to the album, there's a load more.  

I'm after ?1800 ovno. The car is worth that in original parts alone!

The car is available to view in the Ipswich area most evenings and weekends.

The car is in great original condition.  It has front fogs with a red grille surround, a 3-piece Zender spoiler and the original alloys are in excellent condition.  The stereo fitted is in keeping with the car and the speakers are fitted - there are no holes in the original parcel shelf.  The carpets, door cards, seats and headlining are again in amazing condition given the car's age and there is only very slight wear to the drivers bolster.  The only non-original feature is a recently fitted (?300) Clifford alarm system.

The engine is 1.6l and I think a later addition - the car is registered as a 1.6l 'Driver'.  Unfortunately I have no real history other than 15 years of MOT's and a wedge of receipts.

Everything works exactly how is should.  The engine runs very nicely and starts first time, every time.  The car goes, changes gear (5-speed 'box) and stops with no issues.  It passed an MOT with no problems a couple of months ago.

thats a 1.3 driver shell mate

VW thinks it left the factory as a 1.1 4 speed golf C.

I did a search on ETKA using the VIN plate.

I was under the impression it used to be a 1.3 'Driver'.  The shell was used as it was completely rust free - all the running gear and interior were then transferred from a GTi.

I would have though someone would have been interested.  The car must be worth ?1800 in original parts alone  :dontknow:
