***NOW SOLD***

More and bigger pictures: Tischer gallery

For sale 1985 VW 1600 diesel Caddy camper with de-mountable German made Tischer conversion. This is a fairly rare beast, i've only ever seen one in europe and pictures of one other in the UK.
 You can jack the camper unit up and drive the caddy out it takes about 5 mins (admittedly a bit longer to put back on!).

I'm putting it up for sale for £2,400 offers NOW £2,000!, and it's located for viewing in Stafford (J13 M6). Currently has 11 months MOT, but no tax. The truck has done 85K miles and it will be sold with a set of 14" black teardop alloys, not the ones shown.

The camping unit is a great design, surpisingly spacious and can sleep 3, but is ideal for 2 people. It features:
* solid pop-top roof
* 2 ring gas cooker, grill, stainless sink with electric water pump
* 3-way fridge, heater
* Electric hook-up point, leisure battery, and gas locker
* A wardbrobe, cupboards, drawers and lighting
* Slide out double bed (up over the cab)
* Table and L-shape lounge seating (converts in to a seperate single bed)
* Plenty of windows with curtains and blinds.

I bought it a couple of years ago have used it only a few times. I had planned to do some mods on the caddy, but a buying a house needing a lot of work put and end to that. Consequently its sat unused for too long, and I still dont seem to have the spare time to do anything with it, so its time to go.

I had done some work on it recently in order to get it back on the road and use the pick up. Its had new shocks all round, new mounts on front, replaced a rear wheel bearing, replaced a CV gator, new diesel and air filters, alternator belt.

Its by no means a minter; you could use it as it is, but a few items do need attention to smarten it up and bring it back to a former glory.

Caddy: There are a few bits of surface rust coming through in places, particularly on the bonnet edge, some bits on the wing edges and the drivers door. The pick-up bed needs two small repairs (see pictures) but the rest is in good condition. A previous owner has sealed between the dash joints with scilicone(!), which appears to down to a few missing fastners around the dash. The cab is in a nice used condition.

Tischer: Unfortunatly one of pop top seals has dried out, split and has allowed some water to enter the corner above the wardrobe which has damaged the wardrobe top, this needs sorting. There is a couple of places of corrosion around the unit, particularly where you've got a steel member passing through the cladding.

 Previous owner has painted out some of the Tischer stripes along the side.
