Sold!!

Hi Folks!

Having run this for the last month as my daily driver, its time to put my Mk1 up for sale. Theres no reason for this, other than I miss little things like power steering, acceleration, and at least 2 speakers on the stereo :)

It drives great, always gets lots of looks around town, and is in original form, apart from the period Blaupunkt i've added, and the "upgrade" of a cigarette lighter(just for the 12v supply socket) I dont want to start hacking it to bits,by adding a decent pair of speakers to make driving more pleasant for me,so im going to sell it on,and put the money towards a Mk1 GTI,when I find the right one.

O.K,heres the details

1983 Mk1 1.1C
92000 or 93000 miles, cant remember exactly but its around there
Gambia Red
11 months T&T-flew through with no advisory items
Original condition inside and out-never modified(apart from adding the radio and the cigarette lighter)
Original owner from registration, til Oct84,it was then purchased by my friends Great-Aunt who had it until recently, when my friend bought it from her as she was no longer able to drive.
Lots of service history, all previous tax discs, original dealer window sticker and tax disc holder,2nd dealer number plates.
Interior is in very good, original condition
Exterior is in very good condition. It is not mint,it is a 29 year old car after all,but it is in great shape for its year.It does have the odd chip/scratch here and there, and is in good order.I have not tried to touch in any areas,as I think it would stand out too much.
I am told that there may be a lot more paperwork, along with the two front head-rests at Great-Aunts house, this is not definate,so should be treated as a welcome bonus if they are available!
The car, since i got it,has not been hoovered, polished,or washed, and is exactly as it was when I bought it codition-wise. This is so that you can see it as it is,the only thing I did to smarten it up was to re-paint the wheels as they looked a little tired.
The only area that I will be doing in the next few days is to T-cut the drivers door,as I think this was in direct sunlight when garaged and is faded a little, but spot on at the top edge and inside where it was protected from the sun.
Under the engine bay is likewise, untouched,so you can see it in its true, untouched original state, not polished or painted to hide any nasty's
I will be washing and polishing, and hoovering the car this week-I just wanted to take the pictures first,so it gives a more honest picture of the underlying condition of the car.
It comes with original dealer wallet,handbooks,2 sets of keys and the showroom brochure.

Im pretty loathe to sell the Golf,as it really is a cracking car,and great fun to drive, and the only reason I am is because I miss the little comforts ive gotten used to in my Volvo T5/Audi 2.6coupe/Skoda Fabia TDi/Honda Accord/Daimler Double-Six, and the Golf has really given me an appetite for a Mk1 GTi

Price Offers around £1200

Im in the North-East of England, close to Durham/Sunderland/Hartlepool,and fairly close to Newcastle.

Any questions, please send me a private message on the forum.
