SOLD Golfc 1.1 "83" Low Mileage. ?1175

Hi.

I'm considering selling my lovely 1.1 (1093 cc) June 1983 C - 3 door Hatchback.  It hasn't really got the 'legs' for the M5, yet great around town. I did consider changing engine however this would ruin an excellent 1.1 C example, so I thought I would see if there's an enthusiast out there who would appreciate it as much as me.

It can be bought 'as is' as it requires no work at all if someone is looking for 1.1 classic runaround with good MPG.

I use it 4 or 5 times a week, mainly 10 mile runs and then each month a trip up the M5 and back, about 500 mile round trip.  It has never let me down - engine hardly run in. Start?s first time.  Carburetor is the original, it does the job, although many people do change this. We persevered with set up and it's fine. It has been regularly serviced / maintained, as family owned for 3 years.

So there's no surprises and no time-wasting by buyer or myself, these are the key issues :

The car is in  very good condition,  major  points are :

    * Excellent Bodywork
    * Engine has done only 55k  (MOT Certs from 1995)
    * Mostly all original  parts
    * Interior good
    * Complete with Service Schedule + Instruction Manual + Wallet

History.
Original paint. The most important issue is the car is practically rust-free.  (Waxoyled since new and I?ve spent time getting into all the smaller areas since) . We bought car from a friend due to numerous running issues over months. It was simply that the fuel filler downpipe had rusted and when replaced and the fuel system cleaned of all rust particles we have had years of problem free motoring.

Parts/Issues requiring attention to bring it up to excellent specification

    * Rear shelf brackets damaged (see photos)
    * Small dents / scratches / paint wear - all minor.
    * NS Rear top wheel arch has been hit / scratched (it was not rusted) and needs a more professional repair.
    * NS Front (underneath) has slight dent.
    * Not original gear knob.
    * Both doors need better adjustment.
    * Bumpers scuffed in places.
    * Driver?s seat  (worn area about 2"  square - see photos)
    * No radio
    * Headliner although not damaged or torn has been painted black by previous owner.

The engine is 1093 cc (1.1) Manual (4 gears)  'GG' Coded. Paint = LB5A Pargas Blue.  To my knowledge the head has never been touched. Very slight oil vapour leaks, (from oil switches) nothing major, the Crankcase Breather is clear yet has not been replaced (Next job if I keep it!) Cambelt(Gates) changed 2004 (we did it)  and new water pump fitted at the same time (we do not have original). MOT until 21/4/2009  and taxed until end April 2009
