i am wanting a mk1 track toy and so must sell my green mk1.
 fully rebuilt  very well cared for, (more than the missus according to her )
 a few of her will have seen it. insurance  chap  valued it a ?4500 so would like as close to that as poss. 12 months MOT 6 months tax.

no it's a dw  chassis, but still has campaign extra's. like a new car, new brakes, new brake lines , fuel pipes, new rear axle, bearings, wishbones, magnex exhaust , new wings ,front panel, both sills, pictures of all the work done very well cared for.

I can vouch for this car its definatly a clean one!!

Cant believe youre getting rid of her Jim you should tell Jo to sell hers so you can get a toy!!!!

Is the price a little high considering the price of petrol hitting new highs? Many mk1 owners can barely keep the cars on the road, with interest rates rising and credit card bills to pay, the market place is awash with good mk1 Golfs. You can't give them away, nice mk1 Golf though.

i think the price is fair, but then i know how much time/ work has gone into this car.

Intresting comment about price,now i wouldnt like to say what its worth and to be honest mine owes me probably the same and looks nowhere as good but once prices start approaching 5000 there must be a very limited market and personally i would be looking at an unrestored version.

abf you are right what you say about a limited market,i'm sure if i total it up it owes me alot more, it  was a labour of love,not profit and if you can do it yourself i think it's better to buy one in need of restoration and you get the pleasure of restoring it, and i am sort of missing tinkering and solving problems as they happen  but that route can be a long and expensive one and some people, who are in a position to would prefer just to buy it and enjoy it without all the hard work, fixing bits finding that elusive part,ect, ect.
  i am very sad about selling my mk1, but i want to get down to running just 1 car and after all the effort i don't want to ruin this mk1.so am planning on getting another mk1 but something with a bit of grunt but not so botherthed about bodywork.  but without causing any offence this is a FOR SALE thread so i don't want a debate about prices unless you are haggling to buy my mk1. :wink:

Looks mint mate - TBH I have the same car and I know how much it costs to get them done up to that level. The comment earlier about petrol prices and stuff like that - rubbish. The biggest cost on a car is depreciation. If you are worried about petrol costs, get a diesel or walk!
