Project Cabriolet for sale

Two things have happened that have made me realise that I am not going to have the time to finish my project golf cabriolet. My wife has told me that we are expecting our second baby and I have just bought a T25 to convert into a camper, so it is with a heavy heart I have decided to put it up for sale.

I bought lil dink as we call her as a wreck three years ago, she had a 1.5 auto engine in her which had a hole in the engine block the size of my fist. I have stripped her right down and done all the welding she required, sills rear quarters and rear valance have all be rebuilt and painted in Por 15. The front panel has been stripped and painted with por 15 as has the engine bay.

The swage line has been soothed around thee quarters of the car the only bits left are the driver?s door, new front driver?s wing, the driver?s side wheel arch and the underneath. The passenger side is in primer and has a little bit of surface rust popping through in places but nothing major, the boot lid has been soothed out and a BBS body kit is fitted to the passenger side and the drivers side the only bits left to fit are the front drivers side wing section and the front spoiler. I also have a Zender double headlight grill complete with the lights.

I have the choice of two engines to go in the first is a mk2 1.8 gti lump that has been completely rebuilt, all new gaskets, rings and seals. The head has been polished. The second I have only just got which is a mk1 1.8 carb which I have done nothing with yet but was a runner, both engines are included. I have a manual five speed to go in plus 90% of the linkage. I am just missing the bracket for the steering rack and the transfer rod.

I have nearly all the interior which is in blue. She will need a new hood as the original is rotten.

I will also throw in the tent if needed, but the tarp is shot now.

I was thinking of a price in the region of ?650 I have spent about ?900 but I am very willing to negotiate.  PM me if you have any questions or want to come and see it. I would prefer if it goes as one project rather than break it up.
