PROJECT::: 1982 1.1 Mk1 Golf
This is great base for any enthusiast who wants a restoration project. This was the main intention of what we were going to do, but due to a mate moving house, i am not able to afford to do this by myself. So here we have it up for sale. Such a shame, but would rather it go to another enthusiast than just sit there & have nothing done to it
The engine runs fine (with a new charged battery), the exterior bodywork needs minor attention, just a case of sourcing parts which isnt to difficult by scouting various forums & ebay
Points of attention:
* Needs new doors
* Needs new wings
* Needs new windcsreen
But generally its a very solid body. Another note is that we dont have the bumpers, we havent had them since we bought them, but no doubt they would want to be changed as we did have the idea of chrome one's
When we bought the car the scuttle panel had a small leak & soaked the carpet, we tried to save it but seems we were too late as it went soggy & fell to bits. The scuttle panel panel has been repaired & no longer leaks, we have also sorted other parts of the bodywork that werent great, so the hard work is pretty much done for the new owner. Also we sourced a new bonnet which is on the car. Comes with original log book & has lots of aditional paperwork from its very early days. There is an old MOT certificate which indicates it passed the MOT on 78,472 miles & the car has now done 79,219 if that an indication of the excellent condition of the car itself.
Also the seats were pretty shabby so we bought a set of GTI seats to replace them, these are for sale too
