NOT FOR SALE - NOW STRIPPING

1989 - 1.8 Auto Clipper
Just 97k on the clock,
Taxed till end April 08
MOT'd till April 22nd
Angel eye lights to front (have original lights and will swap back if buyer prefers)
Rear lights have been fitted with crystal clears (have original lights and will swap back if buyer prefers)
Lowered around 40mm with BOGE springs (bought via a member of this forum) (if buyer prefers I still have original shocks and springs and will swap back/but wont set up tracking/camber)
NEW black MOHAIR hood and black vinyl headliner with new window seal fitted around june this year, with a cost of over ?600 (window frame is a little rusty, but fitter said it was straight and watertight)
Darker interior fitted to help match in with now black headlining (Still have the grey original clipper interior and will swap over if buyer wishes)
New carpet set (non VAG) fitted not one piece, but looks good
Recent full service inc cam belt change
alloys currently fitted, but would prefer to sell without, so the 13" steels would be refitted (ALTHOUGH I MAY HAVE SOME OTHER ALLOYS AVAILABLE SOON will update at the weekend)
car runs really well and returns good MPG for a 1.8 Auto, has only ever let me down once..
I've also been told she's fitted with a rare rear bumper (I may be wrong tho, but she doesnt have the cut out for the fog light) PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ADVISE IF THIS ISNT THE CASE
In helios blue (Mild rat look as not the best paint in the world)

Bad points
Doesnt always start first time from cold (but what mk1 does??) I always leave ticking over for 5 mins before setting off
Reverse lights dont work (but they are not required for MOT)
small surface rust on front scuttle panel and rear quarter smaller than a 50p piece bubble
small rust bubbles under hood on drivers side by hood plate
door cards have only been fitted as a temporary option as i was on the lookout for better ones (they have cut outs for speaker, but no speaker)
Plus drivers window winder has been drilled out to remove a stuck screw and the end is still stuck in the winder so winder falls off, (again i was going to sort this easy fix when right door cards found)
to make a true nice car she could do with painting but i prefer the used look rather than the pristine look, doors have had a bad paint job at some point which doesnt quite match, see pictures

Dont let this put anyone off as she is a great car..
We've called her Pyrdee

I will be removing the stereo equipment and will happily fit another stereo cd player and leave the 6" x 9" in the rear parcel shelf if the buyer prefers for cost

I know its not the best time to sell a convertible, but i have to let her goes, grab a bargain before the summer

Why buy one for similar money that needs the HOOD REPLACING when this one already has a great watertight hood

Ideally I would like to cover my costs, but i know that would make the car unrealistic in price

therefore I'd be looking for

?700 with original lights and steel wheels
?800 with all lights and steel wheels
?1100 with Alloys and the remaining tax
?1250 with everything including spares and original eqpt

However no sensible offer will be refused….

Worth buying for roof and parts alone

Anyone want to know more or make an offer, either pm me or call 07834515382 for full details…

heres a few pics some taken today

Mileage

Drivers Seat

Passenger Seat

interior/Headlining

Optional interiors pics THE LIGHT MAKES THESE LOOKED STAINED THEY JUST NEED A CLEAN

Thanks
Steve

hi, sent a messge but not showing up in my "sent" folder. Just asking for your best price with original lights wheels etc, and regarding the rusty bit under the hood edge its not rotten is it? Just when you mention about breaking it, its surely too good for that isn't it?

Sorry i cant be accurate about the bit under the hood being rotten, rust is showing through and the only way to be certain would be to strip hood off.
Just replied ref stripping/too good.
Its more a financial thing, i can use half the spares for my tintop, saving me buying them, and the bits i dont need i could probablt get more for by stripping the car.

Are you still stripping this Lawsy?

Just I have a noisy bearing on my fuel pump, and wondered if your fuel pump was in good condition if you wanted to offload it.

Just a general enquiry, wouldn't be after it till next month.  Mine is a GTI Cabby, but as it's a 1.8 still I assume the fuel pump will be the same?
