I have for sale my unstarted project which is an original 1981 Golf mark 1 tintop. the car was originally red but the V5 was changed when it was resprayed by a previous owner. The reason for the sale is firstly I cannot get reasonable insurance (I will be 17 this December) and I no longer have the space to do the work needed on it and sell it as a finished project.
The pictures tell the story, but it is basically a solid car that needs a lot of work, but if finished could be worth a lot for the year of the car. It does not run, so probably needs a new engine as the piston rings and head gasket are gone. The car has been lowered on Jamex coilovers (see pics) and it has alloys fitted with 4 space saver wheels as well, for use during the restore. The interior is intact but condition of the various parts is variable - the dash is good - the drivers seat is tatty.
