Reluctantly for sale is my VW Mk1 Golf diesel. I have owned this car since November 2002 (so about 7 1/2 years now) which it great fun to drive and has been very reliable but I must now sadly sell it as I am getting married later on this year and need the cash :-(

The engine is a 1.6 turbo diesel as after driving the car for a year or so I decided the original engine was under powered and commuting to work was a chore.  So the 1.6 diesel and 4 speed box was removed and a mk2 golf 1.6td engine & higher geared 5 speed box was transplanted.  This was a real improvement and made the car easier to drive with the extra power & torque but still retaining great economy.  The brakes were upgraded to GTI vented disks & calipers for safety when the more powerful engine was fitted.  Also the diesel injector pump has just been rebuilt by a local diesel specialist due to a leaking o-ring so it should be good for years to come.  As you see from the photos the car has been professionally repainted in vw aquarius blue (the new vw beetle cabriolet colour) about 3 years since and was painted as a rolling shell so the engine bay, door shuts & boot area has all been painted.  The body is very solid and has all the original vw panels as far as I am aware. The only thing I have had swapped while I have owned it is the lower rear panel.  Once painted, a set of refurbished 6Jx16 Porsche design 90 wheels & tyres were fitted with TUV approved H&R 25mm hub centric adapters.  Other external modifications include GLS chrome grill trim, GLS chrome sill & wing mouldings & GLS chrome door mouldings.  Internal adjustable GLS/GTI door mirrors are also fitted to finish the high spec exterior.

With the outside sorted my attention was swapped to the interior.  To go with the new blue paint work the dash was replaced with a blue GLS item along with a blue centre console with contrasting yellow Porsche 944 vdo gauges.  The door cards were also swapped for the higher spec GLS items with chrome and front door pockets.  The steering wheel has been swapped for a GTI 4 button wheel and to finish the interior blue leather mk2 Scirroco Storm seats have been fitted which are height adjustable both sides and 50/50 split folding in the rear.
