 Description: Mk1 Golf Convertible, was stolen recovered then acquired from the Sussex Police in 1999. The car was then built up using a mixture of new and used parts over the next two years at a cost of over £2500.  The interior is blue leather [including the door-cards and the hood is made of Mohair.  The suspension was all new and fitted with uprated shocks and springs then lowered by 30mm.  The exhaust is made of stainless steel.

The condition today is average and if I were to keep the car I would rebuild the bits that are looking shabby and make it a great car once again.

The engine is the 1.8 GTI engine with the K-Jetronic fuel injection system.  I would be tempted to rebuild the top and bottom of this engine as it is a little tappetty when starting from cold.  This car is a really good project for a VW lover whilst being able to use the vehicle on a daily basis.

The car is on a 'Q' plate as the last three digits of the chassis number were removed by the thieves making it impossible to identify the actual day of manufacture but the month and the year have been established.  The car now carries a new chassis and registration number which were issued by the DVLA and is, therefore, completely road legal.

The MOT runs out [as does the tax] in November but I am happy to renew the MOT if the right offer is made.

All in all, I want the car to go to a good home. ]
