I have for sale my MK1 Golf 1983

Was at first at £3,300 but now really need to sell to fund new car. Selling for bargain price.

On log book as original 1.3 Driver

It has had a 1989 1.8 16v k-Jet fuel injected engine conversion from a mk2 golf (engine has done approx 100,000 miles)

It also has a UNIQUE hydraulic clutch cable conversion with a G60 corrado gearbox for quick and smooth gear changes like a modern car unlike other old classic cars.

Finished after a month of work on 7th July 2011, so many new/refurbished parts.

MOT until June and is now SORN. Has been sitting in garage for 2 months.

Body shell is original and in great condition, hard to find one in this condition.

I have spent £4,000 on the conversion and originally bought this for £2,00 so it owes me £6,000. Selling for less than half this as unfinished project as I have no more money to spend on it and was going to use this as a day to day car, so will be sad to see it go.

Newly sprayed engine bay, including engine parts £300
4 branch exhaust manifold cost me £250
21/2" stainless steel exhaust system through pipe with powerflow back box custom made cost me £300
G60 gearbox and new clutch £350
Hydraulic clutch and cable conversion parts £250
Solid engine mounts to terminate kinetic power being lost £100
Wiring loom and ECU £150
New brake pads front and back £50
FK coilovers (bought oringinally with car)
BBS 14" rims in good condition with lots of tread (front 2 centre caps are missing) £200

Rest of money was spent on Labour.

Stuff on the to do list:
Interior inc seats and carpet
Oil pump instalment/change of lifters to get rid of slight rattle in top of engine.
May need respray due to slight bubbles on side of car, hard to see but can tell when take a good close look.
Side lights need re-installing
Drivers door hinge needs replacing.
Needs a speedo cable.
Front right suspension bottom pin bent needs replacing and bent wishbone (nasty pot hole) will most prob be fixing this before sale.
Engine has started to get some running problems after long drive to wales and back in august, has no fuel filter so blocked injectors.

Great nippy car once running, just needs a little more love to get it finished and into a stunning show car, with most of main work done.

It is hard to find an original shell like this in a great condition especially with 10 months MOT!

Will need to be picked up on trailer due to SORN
