Mk1 Golf 1.5 GX Lhasa Green - Sale on hold

Cheers for everyone's interest, but I'm going to have to put the sale on hold for a little while though, but I've found there's a couple of things with the car I want to sort before selling it.

Cheers,

Mike

 Description:
I've decided it's time for a change, so the Golf has to go. It's a great little car and has been very reliable for me, I'll be sad to see it go.

I bought the car in June 2008 in almost standard form and since owning it I've fitted coilovers, alloys wheels and a few cosmetic touches to make it more to my tastes. (Single light grill, period number plates..)

The bodywork is generally good, there are a couple of rust spots on the bottom of the drivers door and a little on the passenger side front wing under the bumper (I've got a rust free wing to replace this that I'll include), but it doesn't detract from it too much.

The mileage is a little on the high side at 184,000, but you'd not know it from driving the car. The engine has been replaced in the past and has done about 85,000 miles as far as I can remember (Bert may know more about this).

The alloys are BMW bottletops with 195/45 tyres with lots of tread, the coilovers are the Hottuning one you can get off Ebay (fitted by me Sept 2008), the ride is surprisingly good, but very firm. I've not got them wound right down in those pics, the car could go lower if you wanted.

I've not got an interior photo to hand, I'll try and take one today, but it's in great condition, no tears on the seats and no wear on the drivers seat where they usually go. There is a Kenwood CD player and Sony speakers in the parcel shelf (I've saved the original shelf, which will come with the car).

While I've had it I've replaced the discs and pads up front (less than 500 miles ago), o/s/f wheel bearing, strut tops mounts and all the suspension and it's had a service in the last 500 miles. It's been very reliable for me, starts easily and drives well.

The car passed it's MoT just over a week ago, all it needed to pass was a small patch on the chassis leg near the rear beam. It only has tax until the end of December unfortunately, but does fall into the cheap band.

These photos are from earlier this year, I'll try and get some more up to date ones asap.

And a good indicator of what the colour (Lhasa Green) looks like in person, my camera always makes it look darker… (thanks Edd!)

This one was taken on Wednesday this week, nothing much has changed since the first pictures, but it's got the twin light grill on now (single would be included) and I've taken the mudflaps off (I'll include them too).

I've also got a spare bootlid in the correct colour that can go with the car, a n/s hub carrier with a new bearing already pressed in and track rod end for the same side to go with it will be included as well.
