4 door Golf GL 4 speed 1.5 engine which is within the cheap tax group, 8 months MOT, currently taxed as I use it every day but this may not be included in the sale…
I use it every day around town, and have been on many long drives all over the place in it and he has never ever let me down, it is a really reliable little car.
The golf has only done 55,000 miles from new, and it really shows, mechanically and structurally it is in fantastic condition.
I brought the car from the 3rd owner, who never used it, previous to him I believe it was in the same family for a long time, changing hands only once from new!
All this is backed up in the pile of history I have with the car, including the complete original owners hand books service shedule, with delivery stamp and pages of service history, also have the original logbook from when it was new, and even the original bill of sale from leathwoods VW in Croydon. Matching Leathwoods dealer number plates are still on the car from new.
Rare original colour LA1V Sand metallic, all original inside, outside has had a re-spray a while ago in the original colour, still in very good condition, couple of small areas flaking but only revealing the original paint underneath!
Absolutely no rust on the car, I have had my fair share of rusty cars and was amazed when I first looked under this, the inner wings are all original gold paint and factory under-seal everywhere, really really solid, first thing I done was get it up in the air and fill all of its orifices with tectyl (rust preventative) and gave everywhere a very thorough coating so it will stay in this condition for a long time to come.
The inside of the car is like a time warp… all totally original, rare brown dash and matching brown wolfsburg steering wheel both in mint condition, no rips, tears, major stains to any of the upholstery, even the drivers seat is hardly worn, the back seat is like no one has ever sat in it! Headliner, carpets, door cards etc etc are all present and correct and in fantastic untouched condition.
Previous to me owning the car its had:
-   Cam belt
-   New rear wheel cylinders
-   New rear shoes
-   New front pads
-   Rear of exhaust
Since owning the car I have done the following:
-   Fitted a NOS original weber carb (came supplied with the car) K&N air filter.
-   All full service parts new including coil, HT Leads, plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, points, condenser, oil and filter change,
-   All new fuel lines fitted
-   New sachs complete clutch kit, fitted less than 200 miles ago by a qualified VW specialised mechanic.


Currently the car is sitting on a set of coilovers, and a set of custom made lazer cut 'lowering plates' on the rear which relocate the stub axe 50mm higher up, retaining some original suspension geometry… ALL the original parts taken off the car are included in the sale, so it can be put back to stock in a weekend with no worries.
Really don't want to sell her, I absolutely love driving it about, but I need the money more than a car at the moment, so cant justify keeping it, I am gutted.
Price is £2000, and I am in Southend in Essex, delivery is possible, but ideally viewing is recommended here, would be easier to jack it up and have a proper look etc here!
