I'm offering my Diamond Silver Campaign for sale for spares or repair on the register, rather than weighing it in for scrap.



It has lost compression on No.1 Cylinder, but the engine runs so the car can be moved. The car was sweet and a real pleasure to drive until the day my son let rip in it from cold (without me knowing). Got in it to go to work after a weekend away - completely lost heart in the resto project, which was a real labour of love.

It's MOT'ed until April 2010 - had to replace a wheel cylinder for the last MOT and a rear antiroll bar clip for the previous MOT, when I also fitted a new genuine green tinted windscreen and seal.

The driver's seat finally relented and has now worn through in the usual places.

The proper steering wheel needs releathering.

The body has been welded - new rear arches, which are in primer - the bonnet and front wing tops are microblistered from a trade spray in 2001 when new GSF wings were fitted by me, the tailgate has a rust hole where a spolier had been fitted by a previous owner.

The scuttle panel is starting to rust, I merely treated it when I replaced the windsreen with a view to attacking the bodywork properly when funds permitted.

The car comes with OMP strut braces, Eibach springs on Sachs gas struts, armoured brake hoses and ATe Powergroove discs, new drums and shoes. The gear linkage is all new including the bracket that the selector rod runs through…

and also five Pirelli P Slots (the correct ones) with good P6000 tyres - this is the worst one, kept as the spare…

I have a collection of spares as well, including a Kamei rear spoiler hi level brake light insert (boxed), Supersprint centre exhaust, a full set of trim clips and the correct screws for the wheel arch trims. I have a set of four new drop glass slot seals. I also have a Raid half leather/alcantara sports steering wheel and boss. I also have a spare 5-speed gearbox from a 1.6 GTI (drained) and a new LUK clutch kit (for the 1.8).

The car is fitted with an Alpine CD/Radio and lightweight Kenwood 4x6 high powered speakers in the rear pods, which cost me £75.

The uprated headlamp looms have been removed and fitted to my T4, but this is a straight car…



Realistically, I am looking to sell the car complete, so would appreciate sensible offers to account for the condition of the wheels and tyres, which could be removed and sold seperately (I have the centre caps, and locking wheel bolts as well) should I end up weighing it in …
