matte black mk1 project

Due to now living overseas I am sellin my golf. It has been off the road since December 2009 under cover in a dry garage,all work was carried out in 2008-2009 details;

1983 3 door non sunroof driver, originally blue, then orange, now matte black with red front panel and checkered bonnet
1.8 8v from a cab, (pb engine code from memory)
mk2 gti head, pressure tested, skimmed and injector holes blanked by Paul Inch in Plymouth.
Piper fast road cam, adjustable kent
head gasket, timing belt, tensioner, thermostat when head fitted, (august 2009, covered less than 2500miles since then)
Webber 32/34 hmtl carb, all new jets, emulsion tubes and new flange, march 2009
Omp lower strut brace
Top fill radiator
Hottunning/raceland coilovers, always kept clean and lubed with mx chain wax, fitted march 2009, done less than 5000miles.
Febi front top mounts same time as above
Gti front calipers, vented discs and pads (less than 1000miles old)
Gear linkage kit done early 2009
New ball joints and rear wheel bearings, january 2009
Standard red check gti style driver interior, drivers seat has ripped bolster, but all the rest good,
New set of door seals (unfitted)
Has remote central locking, rear lockless door handles currently fitted, but have normal front ones too. One keys for all locks and ignition

Currently on series 1 steels, painted mars red with chrome vanity trim and centre caps, I have around 8 centre caps. On 185,55,13 near new but obviously sat for 3 years now. Have a set of black tarantula's, with tires, two good, two bad
New front panel fitted (previous owner had badly smoothed it) mars red, chassis number plate changed to match front panel and skuttle tray
Bonnet mars red / black checkered
Bootlid been smoothed/dewipered
Plastic bumpers fitted, good straight condition not pictured
last MOT (January 2009) with 2 adviseries, rear wheel bearings and tires, both done
german font pressed plates, uk colour, reflective ones, they were legal, passed MOT with them, not sure on current legality… but have normal uk plastic plates too

work I know it needs…
exhaust back box to centre section join is dodgy, could easily be welded
missing roof lining, currently bare metal
paint, its matte black, not everyones favourite,
its sat for 3 years, so there will be more needed. I will get it running

overall it is very straight and rust free(when it went into garage) quite nippy, suprises alot of people, just let down by the paint

I don't have any current pictures, I have a few bad photos of how I got it, then at various stages, it looks better than that now, promise…

I am back in the uk mid December and will get the it running over Christmas
