Selling on behalf of a mate who has no internet access. Reason for sale is because he doesn't use the car very much, having covered only 300 miles this year!!

Description: Selling on behalf of a mate who has no internet access. Reason for sale is because he doesn't use the car very much, having covred only 300 miles this year!!

The car is a 1988 (F plate) GTI Convertible, in white with the original spec white interior, 7 previous owners, all of whom have spent thousands keeping the car in tip-top condition. This is definitely one of the most comprehensive service histories I have ever seen, loads of old MOT's and a few old tax discs are part of the huge bundle of paperwork. I am told the receipts total over £15k.

Mechanically the car is sound, the engine starts first turn of the key and purrs like a kitten, pulls very well and still returns 30-33 MPG. The bills indicate the filler neck was changed about 10 years ago and ther e are no obvious signs of corrision where it meets the bodywork. In fact, the only obvious area of rust is a small bubble under the front windscreen (photo). There is an immobiliser already fitted.

The wheels have been replaced at some point in the car's life with TSW alloys, but not being an expert I don't know the exact type, tyres are all good.

Looking at the bodywork there are no signs of accident damage, it's fair to say that this is a good un-molested example of a GTI Cabby.

The interior is in good order but in desparate need of a good clean, the drivers seat bolster has worn through but is not difficult to sort out.
The roof does not leak but has got some cracking externally in the usual places, the inner lining is in good condition.
