GOLF GTI 1600 Final edition, Ex GTI engineering, PROJECT car. Mars Red, very original, ex show car,  but does now need a bit work.

2 owners from new, all paperwork and original manuals included always garaged until recently, original VW Blaupunkt radio that came with the car.

This is a very well known car among local VW enthusiasts and is well worth an easy restoration. Needs a couple of small bits of welding, nothing much, very solid all in all, paintwork cleans up very well and is perfectly presentable, but to be a mint showcar again could do with at least a half respray and a new or repaired bonnet. The original  red GTI interior is in as new show condition, but is not offered as part of the sale for this price (Could be bought at extra cost) and there are a couple of bits of the engine missing ie oil cooler, distributor.

Many of my friends who are all VW enthusiasts (mostly old beetle, split screen van etc) agree that this car could very easily be put back on the road in a matter of evenings and weekends with a bit of motivation and enthusiasm. With some paint work, the interior at extra cost and running this car could very easily be all good to go again and with this history a provenance could be one of the best around. They also agree that it is well worth the money I am asking for it and with small investment could be worth 3 times as much as it costs to do. I am not asking to much for it or too little, I just want the approx market value.

Sale includes complete car, incomplete rebuilt original GTI Engineering engine/gearbox, all fixtures ie lights, grill, bumpers,  red trimmed dashboard, original radio, headliner sun visors etc as well as final edition 3 VDO's and rare colour matched Fischer C cassette box , rare Zender 3 piece Roof spoiler, wheel arch spats, 1800 GTI front deep spoiler and obviously all  the running gear and basically everything that originally came on the working car.
