Golf GTI cabriolet - VGC - B90 area - Porsche 928's, coilies

Model: GTI Cabriolet.

Spec/Trim option:

Year of manfacture: 1989, G.
Mileage: 137,000.
Location: Solihull, B90.
Contact details: PM me.
Condition: Very good.
Service history: Lots of receipts and old MOT's.
Mot expiry Date: Oct 2013.
Taxed or sorn: Currently SORN.

I bought it in 2008 and during my ownership the car's been treated to new alloys, coilovers, various engine parts, chrome parts and regular services and MOT's. I've got a folder of receipts from the previous owner that I've added to over the past few years.

The cars in very good condition overall and has recently been serviced and has MOT to Oct 2013.

Engine:

Original, unmolested 1.8 8v GTI engine on 137k. No problems with it, so no need to tinker with it.
Replaced the battery a couple of winters back for one of the Halfords all singing all dancing ones.
Replaced the cambelt in 2010.
Alternator replaced in 2011.
No rust in the engine bay.
Serviced with Castrol oil, Bosch plugs every 12 mths regardless of how little I've used it over the previous 12 mths.

Chassis:

-New front wishbones in 2011.
-New top strut mounts in 2011.
-Lowered on HotTuning coilovers, fitted in 2011. Full 4 wheel laser alignment following the change in ride height. Low, but no scrubbing issues.
-Porsche 928 alloy wheels, with genuine centre caps. 5th spare 928 alloy with decent tyre in boot. McGard chrome locking wheel bolts fitted all round. Short stem valves fitted. -All 4 wheels are 7" wide with flat faces, so no dramas with staggered rears. Took me a while to find them on the 'bay! I then had them fully refurbished before wrapping them in 195/40/16 Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres all round in 2011. Slight stretch on them, nothing OTT.
-Rear drums overhauled with new pistons and shoes in Oct 2012.
-New rear wheel bearings in 2012.
-New front brake hoses in Oct 2012.
-Adapters fitted to allow Porsche wheel fitment.
-Jack/tools, allen key for the adapters, locking wheel nut key and C spanner to adjust coilovers are all to hand.
-Fully Waxoyl'd underside.

Bodywork:

-Full re-spray by previous owner.
-All 4 arches are rust free.
-New mohair roof, with heated glass rear window and headlining professionally fitted in 2004,with receipt. Mint condition, with no rips or leaks. Cars always covered or garaged.
-Smoothed front bumper, with relocated front no plate.
-Single headlamp grill, with chrome trim.
-Chrome waistline trims fitted in 2011.
-Usual marks around the car, but only the usual stone chips.
-Overall condition is very good.
-Pressed aluminium no plates (UK legal).

Interior:

-Original mk1 Golf interior in very good condition.
-Previous owner had bolsters replaced in 2008so the seats are firm and have no sagging.
-Clean black carpet.
-Chrome trim around the dash.
-VDO gauges and centre console fitted, but not wired in (not shown in pictures).
-New roof headlining when roof was replaced.
-Speakers all round, ready for a headunit or I will stick in the Alpine one I used until recently if I get the asking price.
-Good, clean condition all round.
-Steam cleaned at start of summer 2012.

Bad bits:

-Bubbling/slight rust around fuel filler area.
-Usual stone chips.
-Very small dent in door.
-Carpet under drivers heels torn, but stuck back down and is perfectly fine and not noticeable when covered with car mats.
-Bubbling/paint delamination on top of front o/s wing (surface is still intact).
-Small burn in passenger seat fabric (cigarette?).
-Missing drivers seat tilt plastic lever (still operates as catch is accessible).

Interior was steam cleaned at the start of summer this year and since the pictures, I've spent a weekend detailing it using all my Meguiar's/Autoglym kit: clay bar; deep crystal 3 step system, trim detailer, tyre gel, alloy wheel cleaner, Autosol chrome polish, Autoglym hood cleaner and protector etc etc.

I haven't clocked up very many miles on it as its a summer toy really! I tax it during the summer months to drive it round on dry days and show it off a bit, before putting it in my garage for winter.

I've loved having the car but have decided to sell it to fund a new business venture.

If I was keeping the car, I would fit a Porsche leather interior (see below) and look into upgrades like G60 brakes and electric windows.

Viewings encouraged in B90, Solihull area.

Test drives welcome - if you have the full cash amount, your full UK driving licence and a fully comp insurance certificate with you when you come to view the car.

Looking for £2300 cash. I'm in no rush to sell the car and I know what it's worth. Silly offers and timewasters won't be appreciated.

No swaps or part ex's thanks
