A beautiful Volkswagen Convertible Clipper with good history and low owners.

EQUIPMENT
Twin halogen headlamps, laminated windscreen, bumpers and wheel arch extensions in colour of vehicle, front spoiler, padded dashboard, lockable glove box, height adjustable drivers sports seats, front door pockets, sports steering wheel, heated rear window, interior courtesy light, digital clock, rev counter, water temperature gauge, twin tone horn, Roll over bar, convertible top with five layer structure and glass rear window, black number plate surround at rear.

EXTERIOR
This beautiful Golf Clipper Convertible  is finished in the original factory Ink Blue Metallic  and maintains a deep shine having never been painted.  The convertible hood is finished in the matching Atoll Blue which complements the exterior wonderfully and remains damage, rip and crease free.  It operates and folds away easily and correctly.  Some minor age related dings and a touched in scratch can be found.  The tonneau cover is still present long with the Option Code sticker in the boot area.  One tiny paint blister on the N/S/R arch but this does not detract from the excellent appearance of this original car.  The bumpers, rubber side mouldings and all other body trimmings are perfect and scuff free.

INTERIOR
The interior of this Golf is in very good condition with the sports seats finished in the Dove Grey along with the matching unmarked cloth covered door and side panels.  The carpets are still protected by the original VW rubber over-mats. There are no tears to any of the front seats only minor discoloration to the light grey seat bolster on the drivers side.  None of the plastic trim has been damaged and all the controls work as they should.  A modern CD player has been fitted with upgraded speakers. A hidden and out of view shelf in the upper boot area has speaker holes.  

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A proven yet simple four cylinder 1.8 engine producing 90bhp is smooth and performs strongly giving excellent and responsive acceleration.  The vehicle can run on normal unleaded fuel.  The problematic two stage carburettor was changed in 2002 for the reliable and recommended Weber conversion at considerable cost, (invoice in the comprehensive history file).  The automatic transmission changes seamlessly and is willing to engage kick-down quickly.  An very enjoyable car to drive.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This Golf Clipper Convertible is fitted with the optional alloy sports wheels that all remain in perfect condition. They are all shod with quality branded 185/60 R14 tyres that have good tread. With ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes there is plenty of stopping power and the car pulls up quickly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This lovely Golf Clipper was first registered in May 1989 and has only covered 84,636 miles since new.  It comes with comprehensive history file including a very recent cam-belt change at 83,985 miles and without exception, the history file contains every MOT from new leaving no doubt to the cars low mileage.  Having been supplied to its original owner, Mr Bridman in Epsom it has only had a further 5 keepers including two in the same family making this car a unique low mileage, low owner example.   The vehicle has an MOT until September 2012 and comes with a HPi check for the new owner to confirm that no adverse history exists.
