Hi!

I have for sale my 1983 MK1 Golf GX.
It was originally owned by a gentlemen in Scotland who was a doctor and used it to go to house calls doing around 50k and keeping it in near mint condition.  When he passed it away at the end of the 80's it was given to his neighbour in his will however they had no use for it so it spent virtually all of the 90's garaged under cover.  The car was then rediscovered by their son in law who took on the Golf with plans to turn it into a show car however with many other projects he simply did not have time and sold it to me at the beginning of the year.  Since leaving the garage it has done another 14k but is still in near mint condition.

The good bits:

Since coming into my ownership she has had :-
* Replacement Steering Rack and Tracking
* Replacement front discs and pads
* Replacement brake caliper
* Replacement hoses for leaking radiator hose, water pump housing and anti freeze mix
* Replacement brake pipes
* Replacement petrol hoses as previously leaking.
* New oil filter
* New spark plugs
* Full service

* New Horn
* Replacement chrome surround for front and rear windows
* Radio/cd/mp3 player discreetly installed, original radio still installed also but not in use.
* Pirelli P type alloys fitted ( Also available are original steel and chrome VW centre caps)
* LED white interior light and XENON bulbs fitted externally.

The great thing about this car is the fact that she runs amazingly, can be very fast but also a lovely cruiser, the interior is perfect ( if you run your hand over the seats they feel like they were just installed from factory the same day) and if you wanted a very simple quick project for an original show car it would take very little effort indeed.

The not so good bits:

The only real issues with the car are related to the body work.  The owner prior to myself has put two dents in the car under the passenger side mirror and in the rear wing on the same side.  I have had these looked at and because they have not damaged the paint work both should pop out however i have not investigated this further due to selling her.  She also has damage on the corner of both front wings, this would either be quite a cheap trip to the body shop to fix or if you knew what you were doing quite a simple sand, prep and spray job.  Also from her time in storage the roofs paint is slightly blotchy, it is barely noticable but again if you wanted a show car a good machine polish would bring it back to glory simply.  The only other negative i would mention is that the bumpers are faded and there is slight damage the the corner of the front bumper where is has been knocked by the previous owner.  However these are the only real issues with her, mechanically she runs perfectly, there is no rust, the arches are solid so are the floors and the sills and i'll be sad to see her go.

The reason for the sale is due to my love for this car, i have a new job requiring lots of miles to be driven and I need something more modern.  I'm more then happy for people to come and view the car, i am in Boscombe, Bournemouth and tend to be free most evenings.  Its best to contact me via mobile ( text tends to work best ), do feel free to email any questions.
