 Description: Like many people in a similar position, it seems, it is with regret that we are offering our lovely old Golf Mk 1 for sale.  Bought in 2000, we have looked after it carefully for 12 years (garaged since 2005) and spent a substantial amount getting a beautiful restoration job done on the bodywork in 2009.  It's had a brand new (old stock) Weber replacement carb (so now has manual choke whereas it originally had factory fitted automatic choke).  New parcel shelf from Crazy Quiff.  New gear linkage and gearbox overhaul done in 2010.  New clutch 2009.  Engine, bodywork, wheels etc. not modified from original: just maintained/restored.

"Downsides" - trim missing from one of the rear doors (fell off recently); choke cable fixing has become detached from dashboard (though choke still works fine).  Some wear to interior trim and upholstery.  A couple of minor chips to paintwork.

We are happy to answer questions or provide more detailed pictures on request; however please note we are not car experts (we have not, for example, done any work on the car ourselves) and will not be able to provide much in the way of technical or specialist info.

We are only selling because we have recently moved to a smaller more city-centre location with no garage, and basically no longer need to own/run a car at all.
