campaign gti 4 sale

I have a black gti 4 sale i beleive it is a campaign model, i bought it from a police officer who owned it 4 the last 7 years but decided to update 2 a modern car. It is a completly original example, unmodified in any way. The car has just passed an mot. It has perelli P alloys (missing centre caps), there are 2 small bits of rust 1 on wing and the other by the aerial. The car runs like a dream, drives beutifully and looks stunning. Origanally i planned to clean it up and keep it for myself but due to the fact ive lost my licence for 20 months i have no need for it and would like it to go to a loving home. i live in upminster, essex and the car can be viewed upon request.

Sorry to correct you, but all campaigns were built between August and September of 1983.  Therefore, all campaign models should be 'A' registered; Y-plate GTis would have been registered before the end of July 1983, before any genuine campaigns were built!

I have only ever seen 1 campaign on a B-reg, which was a rather nice Lhasa green.

Sorry to correct you, but….. a Campaign is defined by having options packages S707 (special sales campaign) and S750 (Pirelli Alloys). These were both available from chassis number D 448319, which was manufactured before August 1983. So a Y reg Campaign is possible, indeed it would be rare (but still genuine).

so now its rare does that mean the price has gone up?

I'd suggest once the seller "mk1gti4sale" has come back and can confirm or not that this is a Campaign, we'll clean up the ad and then genuine buyers can ask questions, etc.

As a reminder, only those genuinely interested or who have seen the car, should be commenting in the classifieds area. If you wish to discuss the authenticity or otherwise of a car, there is the Mk1 Golf Chat area for this.
