After driving it to VW for an MOT this morning and it failing on more things than I can be bothered to fix my Cabby has to go. The bodywork is in pretty good condition, ALL panels perfectly straight apart from 1 tiny little ding in the bootlid. Also two scabs - 1 on the bootlid and 1 on the drivers side rear quarter, both are quite contained and shouldnt take much to sort out. The front bumper has been cracked due to vandals trying to steal it (They got it to the bottom of the street before realising its Cat1'd and they werent getting it started, so crashed it into a wall) - a good condition clipper bumper will be supplied with the car to complete the Clipper kit but its green so isnt currently on the car.
More about the MOT: It failed on a list of things, the largest of which is a small leak from the fuel tank (which could be repaired with Petro-patch) a comprehensive list of things it failed on is available if needed and I believe for anyone who has the time and the know how, they could have a stunning little Clipper on the road before the weather picks up.
The vandals slashed the vinyl roof, this has since been replaced with a much nicer navy blue fabric one and doesnt leak. The bottom of the car is absolutely spotless (apart from surface rust on the bottom arms etc but the floor pan and sills themselves are absolutely spot on and have never been welded
The front disks and pads are brand new, the front calipers are reconditioned units as is the brake master cylinder and servo (expensive job) and the brake lines are 90% spotless and 10% of them have a little surface rust (but dont need replacing). the rear drums have been rebuilt, one needed a new cylinder or something which has been done and work fine apart from the handbrake cable snapping on me - One will be supplied (this is a job on the MOT fail sheet)
I want £650 for the car (ONO) because i'm going to throw in a set of Ronal Turbo wheels which I know I could get £300 for - Even if I do say so, i'm robbing myself blind but I turn into an emotional wreck every time I see the car so I need it out of my life ASAP
