 Description:

Ok, for sale is my Mk1 Golf GTI that i have only had for a short time. The reality of a new baby arrival forces me to make a more sensible purchase.

The car is:

January 1983 (Y plate)
Finished in Black, desireable non sunroof model.
The clocks read 228k.
Usual GTI extras.
Many reciepts to show all work carried out on car.
Tax until end of year, MOT until Febuary.

I bought the car from Manchester having spent a long time looking for a decent example. The car has been resprayed (windows removed) around 4 years ago and is very solid. The car has no rust in the usual areas, windscreen surround, scuttle tray, boot floor, battery tray.

The car has also had a full engine rebuild, capacity increased to 1.9 with all receipts to prove.

Basic spec:

1.9 TSR rebore with new pistons, steel head gasket, oil pump done less than 10k ago.Full stainless system with heat wrapped downpipe.Many other receipts at that time show that the car was mechanically restored. I have a rolling road tune showing that the car produces 128bhp.
22mm Mk2 16v brake servo and master cylinder with 280mm front brake set up means the brakes are good.
Corrado G60 BBS alloys with excellent tyres on the back.

Recent work:

Replacement Warm up regulator - no cold start issues.
Less than 4 weeks old complete Weitec Coilover suspension, fully height adjustable to anyones taste, new topmounts.
New indicators in front bumper.
Interior fully removed for full shampoo, floor inspected at time - no problems at all.
New fuel lines,filler neck, fuel accumulator and stainless brackets (£400 worth).
All dash lighting replaced.
VDO gauges fitted (oil pressure, temperatue and voltage).
Brand new speedo cable, no needle wobble and MFA works correctly, economy light function works correctly.

Bad points.

This is a MK1 so there will always be niggles.

VDO gauges arent wired up. (straight forward job).
Passenger door has had a DIY repair on a small patch of rust on the lower section.
Rear lights have been tinted by previous owner, i had intended to go back to standard.
Slight stitching split on drivers seat - no bolster wear at all.
Passenger seat doesnt tilt, cable needs repaired.
Boot lid has a small sent near the Golf GTI badge.
The service book is missing although all MOTs are present confirming mileage.

Ive tried to be as honest as possible, overall the car is in good shape and drives very well.
