Description: So finally up for sale is my Gold 3 door Driver with a black GTi interior. I have owned this car since early 2004 when i used it as a daily driver for two years before taking it off the road while i collected parts for a track car\ fast road car. Moving on three years it is now ready for somebody new. I spent around 18mths looking for this car as a good donor for a project, i wanted a solid 3 dr non sunroof model and after owning a few MK1's this is still the most solid i've had.

Some may remember i has this up for sale over a year ago after it had failed an MOT on welding and some braking issues. It made sence to do the work and put a ticket on it, however the list went on and on and i've done seriously more work to this than the old MOT required. Below is alist of whats been repaired, whats been replaced new, some good points and some of the honest for its age bad points.
Repared:

Restored front calipers,
Carb rebuild,
Rear subframe off and floor/innersills patched and welded,
N/S & O/S sillends patched and welded,
Rear 1/4 plates behind both rear wheels patched and welded,
Replacement 40K gearbox,
Replacement 40K drive shafts and C/V's. ( one new boot on outer),
Inside boot offside rear tub patch welded in,
Offside sill patch welded in.

New Parts:

Both front metal brake pipes,
Both front rubber brake pipes,
Both rear rubber brake pipes,
Rear brake cylinders
N/S CV boot,
Filler neck,
Supply metal fuel pipe tank to engine bay,
All rubber fuel lines, tank to metal pipe, metal pipe to pump & Carb,
Fuel Pump and inline filter,
Flexy air intake pipe

Good points:

Good original paint considering the age of these cars now,
Now solid shell with no sunroof to leak!
Clean body around all window seals, no rust under rubbers,
Brown Driver interior replaced with excellent black GTi seats, carpet, and sun visors.
Ronal alloys with good tyres,
Solid inner wings, inner boot, front panel and front valence as well as outer wings,
Webber Carb,
CD player,

Not so good points:

Paint on both doors is good but back of door panels have slight rippling/dents,
Small dent in front of drivers wing, surface rust on the dent but its not got worse in 5 years luckely,
Small surface rust on right edge of boot lid, also not got worse in 5yrs,
Sign of a little filler crack behind O/S rear plastic wheel spat.

Thats it really, all the braking system has been replaced, restored and set up as good as it can be for a Driver model, to be honest a good cheap investment would be a set of vented 239mm discs and calipers off a GTI but it stops OK. The entire fuel system has been interogated and stripped after an annoying issue i had after the MOT where i had muck in the lines somewhere, Hence the webber got a full rebuild and i replaced all the pipes, Anything you take a MK1 to the MOT and worry about rust wise has been sorted and protected so this car should give you a good few years running and trouble free ownership.
While i was doing the welding i managed to keep all the cutting and heat damage away from the original paint on view above the plastic arches. While they were off i cut out some rot and protected the metal behind the plastics. To make the rear match the front of this car for rust free ideally both rear arches would be done with correct panel work but this would then require paint and i was not prepared to do this to a car i was selling.
The interior of this car has been built up from the best parts i had from three cars and i susspect its in better shape than the Campain i need to start on once this has gone.

I have tried to give as honest account of this car as i can, i have based the priceof ?1300 ono on my knowledge of how solid it is, other adverts on the forum, magazine's and other owners opinions.

I'm happy to send more images on request if you PM me.

Mobile now added due to delay in replying to some PM's. Sorry!
