93 Mk1 Red Cabby Sportline GTI for sale

My Sportline is up for sale I will be getting a company within the next few months and I cannot afford to run my golf too. I live in an apartment but if I had a house I would have kept her and declared sorn so I could have done all the bits I have been wanting to this last year.

I will try to be as honest as I can about my golf. I bought her about a year ago for ?2800. Up until February this year I did a 60 mile round trip in her everyday to coventry and back (I live in Tamworth) She has had a brand new black mohair roof fitted - ?500 (which is only about 8 months old) valve stem seals were done about 6 months ago. Milleage is on 149,000. Cambelt was done at same time as seals (about 6 months ago) She is lowered and has a custom front spoiler and a power flow rear box which sounds awesome when the roof is down. I have also installed the headlight up-rated wiring loom so the headlights are nice and powerful. She has a full cobra alarm system fitted with immobilizer and remote central locking (the key fob has seen better days though!)

The bad bits: Only recently (last 2-3 months) I have to top the coolant up about half a litre every 2 weeks and there is a little bit of white gunk in the oil cap - I understand this could be condensation - as since my new job i only do a 5 mile max round trip daily in her - so she dosnt get time to fully heat up.

My ignition switch packed up recently (common problem on mk1s) and I have not got round to swapping the ignition switch over but I have been quoted ?30 by an auto electrician to do it (main problem is getting to the switch - not an easy job) I have bought a new switch but it is not plugged into the barrel so for now I have just been turning the key direct in the switch - sort of 'bypassing' the barrel. Last thing is I think the tracking is off as the steering wheel judders a bit at 30mph and then at 80mph (again this should be an easy fix)

I really will be sad to see this car go and I wish there was a way I could keep her and do her up. But I just haven't got the time or space. This car would be a real bargain especially if someone can do these bits themselves. As there are a few things to be done on her I am very much open to sensible offers. I have no idea what price to put her up at. I bought her for ?2800 and have spent about ?1000 over the year I have had her. I don't expect to get my money back, so I think it's fair to say I won't let her go for less then ?2000.

Please feel free to ask any questions.
