MOT until end of July 2013

The mileage of the car is unknown as the engine and clocks are not original and the speedo does not currently work, however I believe it to be the Speedo cable at fault, which is a simple fix. Paintwork was done a year or 2 ago by myself so its looking tired, and there is primer overspray in the bed. The shell has had welding done for previous MOTs but this was done to a very high standard and all traces of rust were removed. However the sills and B pillars are showing signs of rust. I have purchased the relevant replacement body panels but have not got round to having the welding done yet. You can see in the photo rust on the rear wheel arch. This is not structural and was not a problem in the MOT but I do have an arch repair panel which will come with the car. I also have plastic arch splats which cover it up in the mean time (removed to get honest photos). Comes with the original Volkswagen ignition key and one spare that I had cut. I have a lot of previous service history for this car and have kept every single receipt and invoice for parts and labour relating to it since I bought it. It has had fresh oil every few thousand miles. Most recently replaced parts include thermostat, oil pump, oil pick up, spark plugs, rocker cover gasket, sump gasket, cambelt, water pump, radiator, track rod ends, steering rack gaitors, and cv joints. I recently had the tracking and wheel alignment done to add some camber to the front wheels. I have print outs to show exact settings and it drives nice and straight with plenty of grip.

Recently I have had running issues with the car. It runs and performs as it should above 2.5k revs but below this it is lumpy and will not idle. I believe the problem to be the accelerator pump mech in one of the carburettors and but after a quick look over them cant see a problem. It ran perfectly until the other week and made 140bhp on the rolling road. Needs someone to spend some time tweaking the carbs or replacing but I do not have the time or money so have reduced the asking price by more than enough to factor in new webers and labour.

I dont want to break the car for parts but in the interest of a quicker sale I am considering removing some parts to sell separately and replacing with standard parts to keep the caddy 100% complete, and so…

£1750 for everything mentioned

or

£1500 without any of the things marked with * (standard parts fitted where necessary)

I am open to offers and negotiations as I have bought another car and need this gone to pay for insurance!
