1990/H Helios Blue Mk1 gti cabriolet

Ive had this car over 2 years now, which for me is amazing, i recently sold it to my mother inlaw but she now has no use for it because she bought a new car.

The car has covered 130k miles, it had a full comprahensive history, including the bill of sale but ive lost this in my mothers house and i cant gaurentee that i can get it due to me not being welcome there

Its just had a full inspection and was mot'd last week. It failed on an windscreen washer, o/s/f indicator bulb, split cv boot, rear wheel bearings and exhaust rubbers.

The above were then replaced and the bearing where adjusted, it now has a full 12months MOT.

my insurance has just been renewed so when i get my paperwork (this week) i'll put 6months tax on it.

I had this car in px for an audi 80 tdi i had, the woman who owned it previously was into her horses and the car was rarely used as she preffered to use her rangerover.

When i received the car there was rust on the wing and there was also a hole through the windscreen surround, this was repaired and the whole car was re sprayed.

I took it to a bodyshop over near wantage in oxfordshire and the car went missing, i phoned for months and always got fobbed off then was ignored, fearing the worse the police were informed who did sweet FA, eventually i was coming around to the idea that it had gone untill i got a call from this guys business partner saying "Steve" had done a runner with his money and customers money, he said he kenw where my car was and i promptly picked it up. When i got it home it was in a bit of a state, the front wing had been damaged badly and the window had been left open causing the carpet to shrink. these probelms were sorted when it was re painted, although the carpet is still loose around the doors.

It has a very good mohair roof, it's not that old and its blue to match the car. The headliner inside isnt the cleanest but its not too bad.

The drivers side window is tempramental, in that sometimes it'll work and other times it wont, the only other problem i can think of is sometimes when you apply the brakes you hear a click. These have been replaced to combat the problem but it still persists, ive been told its something to do with the clips so its a very cheap repair.

The engine, is the best 8v ive ever come across, thats totaly honest, it doesnt smoke or rattle, it starts everytime and has never let me down. It really is quick, its alot faster than my sportline and that has a TSR pack A head and cam to suit!!

I fitted the new chrome side trim yesterday, that was expensive but i think its really set the car off.

It had a replacement battery last week, its not long had 4 brand new tyres on it, these will be transfered over to a set of BBS RA's as, the tsw's on the car at the moment are, bloody awefull.

The hood is electric, this is going to be fixed next week, the problem with it is one of the washers on the bottom pipe of the pump is leaking causing the resovior to empty.

Its a good solid car, ive mentioned everything i can think of, if i think of anything else i will ad it.

I've been thinking about selling mine recently (mostly forced by new wife whinging about high costs).  I think I had better hold on to it a while longer.

I always thought this time of year cabbies would be selling like hot-cakes.

Good luck with the sale
