General info:


Mechanical- Starts, idles, does not drive due to fueling read on for more info.

Firstly the car had an issue idling you had to keep the choke out slightly for the car to idle or it stalls or you can keep your foot on the throttle to keep some revs, this appears to be a fuelling issue (hence higher revs needed to prevent stall).

The speedo doesn't work with the lights on nor does the speedo dash light work. Speedo works fine without lights switched off.

The car will start and idle but once you touch the accelerator it stalls its a fueling issue that I have some parts to clear up the lines need some flushing and the carb needs a good clean. A general all round service should get this car up and running. As it is it would need trailering or towing.

Bodywork - Slight rust under the arches, nothing major was very impressed, corroding rust on lower rear valance. Tiny surface rust on front valance. Some small dents, stone chips and a scratch on the boot lid. A weird chip/scratch on a rear arch I'll include in photos at the bottom of the page.

Interior - Original cloth seats very worn, Gti style steering wheel actually not too shabby which is why I bought it.


License Plate

I've had it valued by two companies at £500 and one looking to sell for £1000 giving me £800 after comission. Should be able to forward on these emails as proof.

Reason for selling:

Needed a car for uni' and don't think this would make the 60ish mile trip daily if I got it running well. Can't afford to break down. Would like to get this gone soon to free up money but I'll make it clear the price is non-negotiable.

New drivers side front tyre, not sure when fitted but still has red a yellow lines on tread, decent tread on other 3, decent tread spare.

Those parts were to sort out my fueling issue by clearing the system of any rust ( was going to get a garage to flush the fuel lines)

Gti style steering wheel fitted a few days ago (four button no Gti writing)
Red grille trim I'm pretty sure isn't stock.
