1983 Mk 1 1800 GTi ?1000!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this with the good intention of restoring it back to its original condition.
The car has had a respray so clearly the bodywork is very good.
Mechanically it is sound (160000 miles)

Part History

I have always had Mk 2s, lots. Went for a drive in this Mk1 and just loved it. The only reason I am selling is I just do not have the time or money at the moment to finish it. So, I am hoping someone on this site would.
Bad points,
Roof lining is ripped in two places
Drivers seat will need replacing
Does not have original steering wheel
I replaced the sun roof seal(blisters and all) but there is still a small leak there somewhere, I think maybe the drain or gutter is blocked?
I have a cover for the car so it is still dry.
I live in Worthing    West Sussex  BN14  On the south coast.


The car owes me ?1500 so that is what I would like back in an ideal world.
