1983 (A) Black Campaign GTi

Reluctantly I have decided to sell my MK1. I have had it for about 3 years now and have been using it as a track car for the past 2 years.

It is:

2 litre 8v gas flowed head with schrick cam. Audi bottom end. Producing ~155bhp. Engine was built by Renn-Tech, Tim Cooper of Ellesmere Port at a cost of ?2400.00 back in July 2008 and has done 4 track days since.

4 branch manifold to a 3inch s/s system fabricated by Pipewerx (ex Dubsport owner). Gearbox has just been replaced for me by Tim and is a mark 3 GTi box.

Brakes are 280mm G60 set up with 16v servo and master cylinder. Drilled and grooved discs upfront with track/race pads and fluid. Rear brakes have been converted to disc with brake bias in passenger fotwell. Suspension is Spax fully adjustable coilovers. All joints are poly bushed. Front and rear upper braces along with front lower brace.

Interior is sparce with just a single seat, 4 point harness and 6 point bolted cage with door bars.

Wheels are Borbet C with Toyo's and there is a spare set of alloys with good tyres (cant recall make though!).

The car itself was subject to a complete restoration back in 2002 by Dubsport and the paint was taken right back to bare metal and resprayed black. Paint is still gleaming although there is slight rust patches around the sunroof and the lip of the boot. Nothing through to holes just bubbling.

Overall the condition of the car is excellent in my opinion and goes like stink and stops equally well. Handles extremely well and I have never had one problem with the car in the last 3 years.

It wouldnt take much to put it back to road running condition and should go through an MOT without any issues.

I have spent about ?4000.00 on the car since I bought it, but it could even be more but, I have enjoyed the ownership and use so I am not expecting to get my money back, that's not why I bought it to make money!

I would want to see ?2500.00 for it and to be honest that is a bargain in my opinion but I am biased I suppose!

There are graphics all over the car but these are easily removed and would be prior to agreed sale and dont leave any marks whatsoever.

As is now:
