Registered on 12 April 1983 this lovely example of the original hot hatch, with just four recorded previous keepers, has led a pampered life that belies its honestly recorded mileage and has been a well-cared for vehicle. The vehicle was subject to a restoration with Wagen Wheels during late 2017 at a cost of £7,266
The Lhasa green paintwork presents very well and the interior is in remarkably good condition for a car of this age and mileage. Retaining its original 13” nine slot alloy wheels the car looks as it should.
The vast history file details a record of good maintenance with nineteen stamps shown in its original Volkswagen service book and a further three with well reputed Wagen Wheels as well as many other receipts and MoT test Certificates.
Some examples of the maintenance receipts are as follows:
Goodyear tyres were fitted and balanced along with front discs, front pads, rear shoes, rear drums as well as wheel bearings in July 2020.
A clutch kit and gearbox overhaul were completed in 2018 at a cost of £1,176
Wagen Wheels, early Golf GTI specialists, serviced the vehicle and changed the cambelt at 197,643 miles in 2018, less than 3,000 miles driven since fitting. Subsequent servicing is recorded in the history file.

That's a bit cheeky. Still the more people that know that, the more likely they are to get haggled down!
