Description:
This car is completely standard and the only modifications are to the wheels and suspension. Original wheels will be put on the car prior to sale  and original GTI suspension (quite rare now) will be included in sale should I get the full asking price. The reason for sale is that ive got another classic car restoration on the go which is taking up much more of my time and money, plus I have lost storage for next winter.  Just been MOT’d and the car only needs one more next year then it’ll be MOT and tax exempt!

I've owned the car nearly 8 years now, when I bought it, it had been unused for many years and the previous owner did a bit of work to get moving again e.g the tyres, battery and brakes. The car has stacks of service history and old MOTs including a bill for a brand new engine from VW fitted in the mid 90’s. In my ownership it’s had a lot of major work done including - Stainless exhaust, Gearbox rebuild and Gear linkage, New brake calipers, master cylinder and braided brake lines, New fuel pump and accumulator with new brackets and all new braided fuel lines, Injectors, Alternator, Radiator and various hoses. Most recently installed a brand new set off SSP coilovers from heritage, top mounts were also changed at same time. I had the tracking set up along with the camber so its straight as an arrow. Its always been serviced each year regardless of the miles.

It’s had a recent rear end restoration, which sorted out all of rust to the rear panel, boot floor, arches and around suspension turrets (more pictures available on request). The front end also had a new panel in my ownership further protecting the car. There is a big bill in the paperwork which shows it had new front wings, bonnet and sunroof put in along with a full respray of the car before I owned it. The car is undersealed and looks tidy underneath with no obvious areas of rust. The only area that will need to be treated on the car now is the roof as there are small areas of rust in the rain channels.

The interior has aged very well and there are only a couple minor imperfections, parcel shelf is free from the common speaker hole cut outs with just a very small hole in it. The drivers seat also has two small holes in it which are smaller then a 1p coin. In terms of electrics the car benefits from an upgraded headlight loom which gives it a more modern/brighter look when driving down the road at night. The period correct Pioneer cassette unit has also been refurbish and now works as it should, there is an original centre speaker installed which almost looks hidden and is a rare addition to the golf. The instrument cluster has also had a refurb by the well known crazy quiffs, so there will be no common buzzing from the oil light or dodgy rev counter any time soon! Everything else works as it should besides the 3 VDO gauges in the centre console which are a bit temperamental

As I mentioned at the start the car will come on its original alloys but if you want to keep the ronal alloys on it then we can talk about a deal with them on. Car will also come with a tailor made and barely used car cover, along with other spare parts include tail lights, another set of clocks, new ignition coil and other bits and pieces all in a big box which you can easily sell on if you don't want them. I really am hoping an enthusiast takes this car off me and takes good care of it because it has been a joy. I’ll be gutted if it doesn’t continue its life with another owner who cares for it as much as I have, Thanks for reading and looking forward to chatting to some of you soon.

I would be open to a swop deal with the right vehicle ideally something fun but practical that can be used in all weathers.
