1981 Mk1 golf Cabriolet - Mars Red Genuine 61,000 Miles

1981 VW Golf GLI Cabriolet MK1 in MARS RED with only 1 former (recorded Owner) from Brand New.  


I bought this car in May 2006 and it has been a dream, however, I have owned a number of classic cars in the past but unfortunately I do not have the time and the ability to do any work on this baby and as it is a great example with low mileage I think it is time to sell it to someone else.  The previous owner only used it in the summer as you can see from the low mileage.


This is a GLI not a GTI..
 

As far as I am aware the car has not been modified in any way and all is completely original.  I have the original stereo and the only thing I have added is an alarm/immobiliser.

Bits that need some attention

 

The interior is original and the fabric seems to have come away from the sponge in places, it is not worn and torn, just seems a little ?loose?.  I understand that this is fairly easy to fix.

 

There is a bit of rust around the fuel cap and on the bottoms of the door.   

 

There are a few stone chips but again this can only be expected from a car of this age.
