1981 Mars Red GTI **PRICE REDUCED - ?1900**

Here I have for sale my Mk1.


Mars Red GTI. Non-sunroof model.
New engine and gearbox fitted in 2005.
Odometer reads 109,000 miles.
Driven daily and kept in good condition.
Comes with MOT til March 2009 and taxed 'til September 2008.






















Firstly
THE NOT SO GOOD BITS:

In need of some work to be completely mint; bits of rust appearing at the bottom of doors, tailgate, around the fuel cap and where the original ariel used to be but being a 27 year old daily driver, it's to be expected.
There's also some paint that's come away on the N/S/R pillar that needs painting but is only a cheap job to do.
If the bodywork was immaculate on this car it would easily be worth a whole lot more than advertised.
There is rust also appearing on the filler neck itself.
One of the rear wheel bearings is a little noisy too, which may need replacing.
The nearside front wing has been replaced and resprayed and is a little off-colour compared to the rest of the car but isn't particularly noticeable.



THE GOOD BITS:

Engine/Drivetrain:
Professionally installed engine and gearbox 25k miles ago.
Audi ported & polished throttle body. [Ported & polished inlet manifold supplied]
Mk2 Golf GTI clutch.
Professionaly installed Jetex midbox and downpipe and also a Powerflow backbox adapted to fit from a Mk2 Golf which makes an excellent sound.
Recently replaced gear linkages.
Brand new gear change bearings and rubbers.
K&N air filter.
Upper and lower strut brace.
Audi 90a alternator.
Golf Mk2 starter motor.
Newly changed oil.
New NGK spark plugs.
New oil filter.
New fuel filter.
Under-bonnet soundproofing.

Toad Sterling alarm with central locking & anti-jacking locks.


Chassis:
Apex 35mm lowering springs & struts.
EBC Greenstuff brake pads.
ATE grooved "Powerdiscs".
Fully Waxoyled.
Brand new handbrake cables.

Exterior:
All original GTI trim.
Full respray, not for any other reason other than to freshen the paintwork up.
Crystal headlights with extra bright bulbs and skinny crosshairs. [OEM lights supplied]
Clear front indicators.
Tinted rear clusters. [OEM clusters supplied].
Matte black B-pillars. [Made from stick-on GTI stripes so easily removed].
Rare 14" BBS Scirocco GTI Storm alloys (including spare wheel) which could do with a refurb; with Audi Ronal centre caps.
Armour door plates.
Pressed aluminium German style number plates. [Original plates supplied]
Beesting arial.
All window stickers are easily removable.


Interior:
Original red GTI interior although there is a small tear on drivers seat on the inside leather side panel.
Sony CD player with remote control and auxillery input.
Boston door speakers & Pioneer 6x9's hidden under parcel shelf.
Original GTI steering wheel with painted red GTI emblem.
VW Golf Mk2 switches. [Original switches suppiled]
Aluminium Golfball gear knob.
Sunpro VDO gauges.
All lights work on the dash as they should.
Newer GTI lookalike pedals.


Comes with a binder full of history; receipts, MOT's, services, Tax discs kept up to date by the previous owners and myself since ownership.

Very well looked after car, has been a pleasure to own for the time I have had it. It is in superb condition for its' age and turns heads for all the right reasons.

PRICE REDUCTION AGAIN - NEED TO SELL ?1900!ovno

Unfortunatly the car advertised is no longer for sale. On Tuesday 29th July the car was involved in a accident and has been wrote off . I am posting this on behalf of Deejay as he is currently in hospital.
