1.8 CLIPPER CABRIOLET FOR SALE £££ SPENT

Hi Guys,

The time has come to sell my much loved Clipper Cabrio to make room for a tintop project. Its a 1988 E reg and has covered 130'000miles. I must start by saying it was a CAT C back in 2010 for a bump on the drivers wing but has since had a respray and didnt affect my decision when purchasing. The engine was removed and painted along with cleaning the engine bay. I have done all the maintenance myself as a qualified mechanic, so here is a rundown of the spec

CHASSIS new parts
Front discs and pads
Wheel bearings all round
ARB bushes
N/S wishbone and both side ball joints
New gas shock absorbers top mounts and lowering springs (still have standard springs)
Front flexi brake hoses
Outer CV boots
Rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and handbrake cables


ENGINE new parts
Clutch cable and speedo gear
Entire ignition system (plugs, HT leads, Coil, dizzy cap, rotor arm)
Oil, air and fuel filters replaced with tank and lines cleaned and flushed
Cambelt kit and fanbelt
Rocker cover gasket and carb gaskets
Inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets (including coolant channel 'o' ring and exhaust flame ring
Gearbox input shaft seal with new clutch 2000 miles ago
Antifreeze changed with oil and all new hoseclips, gear oil replaced at sametime
Starter cable with new gold battery terminals (battery new in Oct last year to get it home)

EXTERIOR
Clear angel eye headlights
FK chrome bar debadged grille
15'' Avanti alloy wheels
Yokohama brand new tyres on rear, new budgets on front
very good condition grey leather tonnaeu cover
powerflow stainless exhaust tip

INTERIOR
Pioneer CD player

BAD POINTS
Usual drivers seat wear, otherwise seats in excellent condition
slight rust bubbles on rear arches (not through paint)
Grey PVC roof has faded on front edge and has 2 small tears in N/S/R approx 2cm each
No parcel shelf or boot lining

If I was to keep this car I would say a new roof/refurb would be needed to make this a stunner. It never bothered me as it has always been garaged and only ever out with the roof down. The car turns heads everywhere it goes and really does look amazing in the sun. Very sad to sell but have no space and have to get the tintop started in the garage. Tax is till October as car is still in use in the right weather, MOT expires in march 13. It would fly through another test if required to sell however. It really is a car to just drive and enjoy without any problems. Everything i have encountered along the way that looked worn/old has been changed with receipts to prove. It comes with 2 keys and all VIC check paperwork, parts receipts, recent MOT etc.

Price is £2395 ONO as it owes me well in excess if this. all funds will be going straight into tintop to make that a stunner too!
