Windscreen

Hi,

Planning on taking out the windscreen this weekend, whats the best method?
Im really really worried about breaking it and would like to re-use the rubber if possible.

Cheers

Start in one of the top corners.
From the inside of the car, use your fingers to peel back the window seal and push it over the lip that holds it in place.
Work all the way around the screen.
Push gently from the top start in the corner and work accross.
Move accross the screen a couple of times until it starts to work loose then it will just pop out!

I used the Method Al has explained but used screwdrivers (fairly carefully) to hold the rubber in place, wasn't too worried about the paint as I've been respraying the car..

no need to cut the windscreen out (like I did :banghead: ) as it's a 5 minute job to take out properly!
use the string technique to get them back in
by just running a piece of string around where the bodywork will be sitting in the seal, put the window in place and with a little pressure on the outside from someone, pull the string from the inside, this should pull the rubber lip back over the bodywork

Job done

Hi,

Tried peeling back the rubber today, but couldnt manage to fold it over the lip….. kept going back to original position.

Got really frustrated n fingers hurtin after an hour…. ended up cracking the corner of the window using a screwdriver!

Where am i going wrong?? Surely it cant be this difficult to remove a windscreen!??
