Hi,

I have rebuilt my car and its going back together. Can anyone recommend a way to get the windows to be more freely moving as they are very hard to wind up. Have destroyed 2 window winders prior to the rebuild but now i need a solution.

Please help:ocf_emoticons__BangHead:

Just need to grease up the mech so just take off the door card and grease the runner and wind the window up and down a few times..

I found tweaking the window runner helped.

its probably the cable running inside the tube. try and get some engine oil in there with a flexi spouted oil can.

Have you put the clamp which holds the glass at the bottom in the right place? When mine was stiff I found if I held the glass at the top while winding the window up and pushed it forward towards the front of the car it was easier to raise the glass, I moved the clamp about 2 mm forward and it glides up no problem.
but as already mentioned clean/grease the mechanism first.

thanks all.

grease in the tube worked a treat.

Anyone know should there be a window glass channel at the lock end of the door???? as mine has never had one on both sides and when i wind the window up to top o have to make a slight adjust ment with the winder for it to fall into the correct position. Not a biggy just find it weird??

I just sorted mine yesterday using the above advice.

Tapped the metal holder at the bottom a couple of mil then got some 3 in 1 oil inside by taking off the top hockey stick and accessing it from top.

Now slides up and down effortlessly.

It hardly takes any time at all now to shout abuse at corsa drivers.

Thanks for the tips guys.
