Will GTI flag mirrors be ok on GLS?

Forgive dim question…are flag mirrors interchangeable between a MK1 GTI and a MK1 GLS?

There's some second hand on E-Bay.

If the car had flag mirrors, then you're fine. If the car had remote internal adjustables, then they bolt straight up, but sometimes there's a mark left from the differently shaped gaskets….

Should be okay, the mecahnisms are the same arn't they?

I didn't think any GTI's other than very early ones had this flag type on that's all.
As for fitting, if you're getting a respray/repairs all round you can tidy up any marks left from your old mirrors and screw the flag ones right on. Hope this helps.

Thanks diesel-dubber, yes those are the mirrors I'm watching on EBay, so that's good news.

Car is getting full respray so with a tidy up they should be fine…I'll buy at least one more set if I can find them though, as even with this type I suspect I'll lose 1 every now and then, parking in a rat run road on the way to a station means high risk!
