Will a Wolfsburg Steering Wheel fit a 1992 Cabriolet??
I'd like to fit a Wolfsburg Steering Wheel to my 1992 Cabriolet but am not sure if it will fit.
I've been told that my car has a large spline fitted but would need a small spline to be able to fit the wheel. Is this true? Can the large spline be removed? And if so is it easy to do??
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Thanks for that.
I'm assuming that's the expensive option? Anyone know of a cheaper option?
Also does anyone know of an alternative steering wheel that will fit? I'd like one similar in style to the Wolfsburg if possible.
Thanks

I've never had it done myself but would employ a bit of charm, approach them and hope they would do it FOC. Maybe you have some local vw specialists nearby who could do you a favour and gain work in future ??

I'd be very grateful if you could let me know how you get on. Also what tool you used to remove the spline.

Any way i had to remove the old wheel and the indicator and wiper stalks all very simple like i say that tool wasnt great it did help but also had to be very steady with a hack saw and file to get the tool to grip the back of the collar still wouldnt do it ! kept spraying some wd to hopefully make it slide off easier then resorted to heating it up and brought out the very technical tools of hammer and chisel gave it some good taps from behind the collar and it started to come wasnt easy as the dash is obviously in the way! then went back to the pully gear and eventually it popped off !!!!
The wolfsburg wheel then fits straight on !!!! and looks sweet as …….
To be honest it takes alot patience and alot of effin and jeffin and i nearly gave up but got there in the end and now im well chuffed !!
My car is sorn so couldnt take it to a garage but might be worth getting a price from them if ya dont fancy it yourself but i knew id done this on a previous cabby so was happy to take it on ! its not really technical its just so annoying !! lol
But at least you get the wheel you really want and it does fit !!!!!! if you want to know any more give me shout !
Cheers

I have been attempting this challenge removing the spline adaptor and its so stubborn. Even used a hand made gear puller but no budging including heat and swearing lol.
Gonna remove the stalks to let the fox see the rabbit and maybe I might be in luck.

Good luck mate having read the thread it sounds like there's a fair bit of ballache involved.
