Why remove the bumpers from a MK1
Good day,
Though I`m enjoying the look of my 1982 Rabbit Diesel, I wonder why some folks remove the bumpers of their cars? I presume its for aesthetics, but what does it reduce safety and crash protection?
I was reading these posts : http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=529510
Thanks

As they say 'everyone to their own'. When you see 'modern' bumpers the crash protection is minimal, so removal would only incur a minor impact ding if bumped. After all Mk1's are only held by 4 bolts each end
