Which alternator

Hi, can anyone tell me which alternator I need? I have a mk1 1.8 8valve K-Jetronic engine with no alternator. VW part number and amp rating would be great if you know. Many thanx.

Even better - if anyone can point me to a site with info for this engine as there is a lot that needs restoration.

Best bet for an alternator is www.gsfcarparts.com or www.eurocarparts.com  65Amp will suite you.  
If you're after part nos, sign up to www.vagcat.com Its free and you can get all the part nos you need for your car.

For engine info (apart from this site) try Domain parking page for the injection system or http://www.volkswagen.msk.ru/index.php?p=page01 for everything else - all the info on the latter site is in pdf format and downloadable.
