what seats fit a mk1 ??

heading says it all really, can i fit mk2 seats in a mk1 ? i am looking for leather and know that the rear cabby seats will not fit but do others ? any ideas what my options are ? i have a mars red gti presently being resprayed and 16v engine fitted and want to tidy up the interior as well.  ideally wanted to keep original redstrip seats but redo the bolsters in leather but am having a bugger trying to find someone in kent to do it - again any ideas ??

i have fitted a full set of leathers from a scricco storm, straight in. 8)

Mk2 seats are a bit of a pain. The fronts go in fine, but the adjuster handles underneath are on the wrong side so need switching over (could be depending on the year of mk2 they're from though?) The rear bench doesn't fit without considerable modifications (can't be secured down and won't clip back on both release hooks at the top - in my experience).
