What colour is my car?

Has anyone got any info on vw colours? I know the colour is not an original mk1 colour but i was told that it is a vw colour have also seen a mk3 gti in the same colour metalic green. I really need some of the paintwork touching up.

Saw this link paintscratch . Think it's American, but has 90's VW golf colours. Not sure about Golf, but sure I've seen late 90's Polos in a similar colour to yours?

Best thing to do is take a small painted part off, eg wing mirrors and take it to a good autopaint dealer, they will be able to give you the paint code and a pot of paint!

If it's a factory colour here should be a sticker in the rear of the boot with the paint code written on it (assuming Mk 1 Golfs are anything like Sciroccos[?])

Need help my 87cabriolet paint code is hd 5v?

Hi,

My name's Ian and I'm new to the club and would be grateful for some advice

I've recently bought a 1989 Clipper in good mechanical condition and v low milage.  However to get it top line it it could do with a respray.  Its currently white however I'd like to change it to either dark green or dark blue, but using an authentic VW colour.  I've had a look at the link above to the Mythos-Golf page, which gives colour codes, but I've still got a couple of queries.

Am I right to assume the colours this model would have been produced in were the 1989 Mk2 colours, rather than the earlier MK1 colours?

Can I just go to any car paint supplier, quote the code and get the correct shade or do I need to go to a specialist.  If so can anybody recommend one in the Bristol area?

I would also be grateful for any other info/advice on suitable colour ranges that anybody might have

I've also looked on the US of A paint site. What with the earlier post re colours there is no code for Helios Blue??? Is it because its a weird colour!!

If you look at the earlier link to the German site (Mythos-Golf) it has a page for Mk2's (under Mk2/Lacke) which has Helios Blue as a Mk2 colour for 88 and 89.  The code is LA5Y.

That colour was sold on the late 90's vw's in south africa, cactus green or something like that, email vwsa to find out. was available on citi golfs and polo's. golf4's etc

I have the Same Colour on my Citi,

Will be a bonus to know the colour code.
