Wet carpets in passengers footwell

Howdy :) I've just bought a golf MK1 (Finally!) it's been stored for two years, now it's sat in my front garden waiting to be fixed. We've had alot of rain over the past few days, and now I've just realised the passengers side foot well is p*ss wet threw. I keep mopping it up and what not, but where is this water coming from? I checked above the fuse box and that's a little damp (Luckily it's off road, and can replace the fusebox before I get it back on the road). Is it a sign of rotten front wings, or what?

Thanks

On the bulk head there's two drains that clog up, these are in the corners I'd check these mate.

Is the fuse box behind the dash on these like a mk1 cabby? If so whip it out and give it a clean up with sandpaper and electrical cleaner, will help sort electrical faults to end. Water could be coming through there if it's not sealed properly against the bulkhead.

Yeah it is, I'm going to remove it today after work. I think I've found the leaking problem anyway. There's a hole on the bulk head that's looks like a cable use to go through it into the car, I'm going to patch that up with a nut and bolt and two rubber seals, then test it by pouring water over it. Hope it works haha. Thanks for all your help anyway :D

I had the same problem, turned out to be some holes drilled through the bulk head for cables that had no cables in them. Also check behind your door cards that you have a layer of polythene as rain water runs down the window, through the seal and drips from the door card down into the footwell.

Yepp, It was the windscreen seal. I've just stripped the interior out and had a proper look. I've done a temp fix using mastic. How much will it cost to replace the windscreen seal? Thanks.
